This book is an excellent reference for the TaeKwonDoist. It covers stances, kick, hand strikes, sparring, foot work, poomses, historical facts, and much more. The book is well illustrated and written. The reader is also intorduced to many of the philosophies that drive the modern day martial art form by exploring the TKD origins. For those people who really want to understand the art form and especially those who are aspiring to become a 1st Dan, this book gives you allot of the background information for your oral and written tests. This magazine is a great source of ideas, techniques, character studies, weapons, self-defense, excercising and stretching tecniques, etc. The magazine though is not only dedicated to TaeWonDo but introduces elements of other martial arts such as: KungFu, Karate, Hapkido, etc. In the above issue (Sept 2005), you can see what happens when you combine TKD with Muay Thai kick boxing, Master Brenda Sell who is the first non-Korean woman to pass her 8th Dan black belt level in th world, Master Sangs secret of exploasive kicking and many more interesting articles – just to mention a few!
